Eshwar Chandrasekharan

I am an Assistant Professor in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Previously, I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, and M.Tech + B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Eshwar Chandrasekharan is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research builds a foundation for evaluating and improving approaches to online moderation, and involves developing new AI-backed sociotechnical systems to foster desirable behavior. Dr. Chandrasekharan's work has been recognized with a Best Paper Award at CSCW, Honorable Mentions at DIS and WebSci, and Editor's Pick for Notable Paper at TOCHI. His research has also received considerable press coverage—e.g., The New York Times, The Verge, MIT Technology Review, TechCrunch, and MotherBoard.
